China's offshore wind power development must overcome three hurdles

Abstract: offshore wind power is a relatively comprehensive and cross cutting high-tech industry, involving many basic disciplines. It is necessary to raise the threshold of the industry, insist on letting domestic units with advanced fan technology, design technology and construction technology lead the development, and avoid low-cost competition, because maintaining a certain profit margin is the premise for the growth of the industry

according to the 13th five year plan for wind power development issued by the national energy administration, China's offshore wind power and installed capacity will reach more than 5million kW by the end of 2020. In the foreseeable future of Baiyin due to its high thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, offshore wind power will continue to usher in great development. However, there is still a lot of work to be done to make China's offshore wind power into a national business card such as "China high speed railway", which also requires the joint efforts of colleagues in the whole industry chain. Based on the domestic current situation and international trends, this paper discusses the three obstacles that China must overcome in the development of offshore wind power. Only by stepping over these three hurdles can the cost of the biggest obstacle to the development of offshore wind power be reduced, and it can compete more fully with other new energy forms such as photovoltaic, geothermal energy, shale gas, etc., and make the industrial development more long-term, and it is possible to become a new national business card

the first hurdle: focus on

the chaos of China's offshore wind power development is that most companies in the industrial chain like to do things they are not good at. Without doing their own work well, they want to expand their scale by seizing the things of other companies in the upstream or downstream of the industry. This is similar to the huge industrial scope in China in the early stage of overseas offshore wind power development, but its disadvantages are gradually exposed. For example, a2sea, a wind power installation vessel joint venture established by Dong energy, the world's largest offshore wind power development unit, and Siemens, is about to be sold. The wind power installation vessel business is not DONG Energy's strength, and its outcome is doomed to be sold. For example, some domestic wind turbine equipment manufacturers do not invest much in the research and development of offshore wind turbine equipment products, but they spend a lot of effort on non wind turbine business, and the result is doomed to be bad. As everyone knows, only by focusing can we focus on improving the company's core competitiveness and position in the industry, and only by focusing can we win reputation for the long-term development of the company

the annual advertising revenue of P & G and Coca Cola can feed several advertising companies. Why don't they open their own advertising companies? Why does German Merck have a 70% market share in the global LED market, but does not produce screens

the second hurdle: localization

offshore wind power originated in Europe, but we can completely stand on the shoulders of Britain, Germany and Denmark to achieve overtaking in curves, just like China's high-speed rail, from a follower to a leader. We should learn from foreign good things, but we must not worship foreign countries. Moreover, many of the design and construction technologies of China's offshore wind power are not inferior to Europe, such as large-diameter single pile foundation without transition section, Integrated auxiliary structures, low-cost and high-precision single pile verticality control measures, and new anti scour protection are all originated in China and followed by Europe. Domestic research and development of large capacity offshore wind turbines are also on a par with foreign countries

the only way for China's offshore wind power to become bigger and stronger is localization. The localization of design technology and equipment will enable the national industry to enjoy more of the dividends of China's offshore wind power development, expand the industrial foundation, and force the improvement of domestic technology and equipment through localization. Only localized offshore wind power can embark on the path of benign development, otherwise we can only be the "OEM" of "apple", with the profit of "Apple headquarters" occupying 58.5% and the OEM of China only 1.8%. Most of the offshore wind power development and construction units in China are large state-owned power generation groups. Adhering to localization is of more strategic significance, and it is imperative

the third hurdle: technology leadership

the development of offshore wind power is not a capital race, not a competition for resources. In order to make offshore wind power play an important role in the whole energy structure, we must adhere to technology driven, reduce the cost of kwh power through technology driven, and make offshore wind power a more competitive form of energy through technology driven

offshore wind power is a relatively comprehensive and cross cutting high-tech industry, involving many basic disciplines. It is necessary to raise the threshold of the industry, insist on letting domestic units with advanced fan technology, design technology and construction technology lead the development, and avoid low price competition for the in-depth implementation of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government on the implementation of the decision-making and deployment of major projects on the conversion of old and new kinetic energy, because maintaining a certain profit margin is the premise for the growth of the industry. Beware of taking the road of low-end and productization of high-end industries, and also beware of industrial foam and overcapacity
